Dorothy Elizabeth Krasowski of Westtown entered into rest on Tuesday July 11, 2023, at her home with her family. She was 96.
Dorothy was a retired produce farmer having run their family farm with her husband and children. She was also a retired paraeducator for Orange Ulster BOCES in Goshen, having worked there until the age of 79.
The daughter of Roy and Mildred McIntire O’Dell, she was born Feb. 21, 1927, and was the oldest of 15 children. She is survived by sisters Florence Gardepe and Janet Pines and brothers Eugene, Edward and Stanley O’Dell.
She is also survived by her daughters Linda Paffenroth and husband Alexander; Patricia Eckerson; and Donna Bailey and Ray; grandchildren David Eckerson; Rebecca Milton; Deanne Paffenroth (Kobrick); Amanda Paffenroth; Tonya Vance; Kathy Kitchell; and James Vance; as well as several great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Teddy Krasowski, son Clyde Vance, son-in-law Donald Eckerson and several of her siblings.
Visitation and funeral services were held July 14 at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route 1 in Pine Island, NY 10969.
Cremation will be held privately as well as burial of her ashes with her husband in Ridgebury Cemetery.
