Dale L. Quackenbush

Dale L. Quackenbush, formerly of Warwick, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018, at his home in Holland, Michigan after a long battle with chronic kidney disease. He was 62.
Dale was born Dec. 8, 1955, in Middletown. He was the son of Wallace and
Marion (Shorter) Quackenbush of Warwick.
Dale was a member of the Warwick Reformed Church and a graduate of Warwick Valley High School. He received his B.A. in English Literature from Hope College in Michigan. He studied at Life Church Leadership College in Michigan. He later received his Master’s degree from Grand Valley State University in Michigan.
Dale was a mentor/tutor for the Upward Bound Program in Michigan. He was a teen advocate/counselor in the Michigan Court System. He was employed for more than 20 years by the Grand Rapid Press. He was a minister at large at the Church of Light in Michigan.
Dale loved to sing in his church choir and the choir at Hope College. He loved fishing with family and friends. He had many fond memories of time spent on Cousin Al’s farm in Edenville. He enjoyed trivia, video games and long lengthy discussions on religion, politics and literary works.
Dale is survived by his sister, Diane Gallondorn of Port Jervis; two nieces: Pamela Dunleavy (Mike) of Port Jervis and Dawn Gallondorn-Lory(Darin) of Middletown; two nephews: Kenneth Costic (Diane) of Port Jervis and Mark Gallondorn (Amanda) of Mason, Ohio; one aunt, Muriel Quackenbush of Warwick; and many special cousins and friends.
Dale was recently predeceased by his brother-in-law, Thomas Gallondorn of Port Jervis, and his uncle, Morton Quackenbush of Warwick.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 14, at 10 a.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. The Reverend Linden DeBie will officiate. Interment will immediately follow at Warwick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dale’s name may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
