Warwick - On Friday, Nov. 7, employees of St. Anthony Community Hospital celebrated one of their own, throwing a surprise party at the Italian Villa to commemorate Peggy Olivieri’s 40 years of employment at the hospital. Peggy Olivieri , who lives in the Village of Florida, began working in medical records at St. Anthony’s in October 1968. She then became a unit clerk on the first floor and worked in the Emergency Department while attending nursing school. Following nursing school. Peggy began working in the Operating Room; she has been working there ever since. The lives of Peggy and her husband, Joe, have intertwined and grown with the growth of the hospital as both their children - Andrea and Ryan - and grandchildren - Hope and Lily - were born at St. Anthony’s. More than 75 fellow employees, physicians, family and friends turned out for the party. Peggy’s son, Ryan, who works in Washington, as well as her daughter, Andrea Newkirk, who flew in from Las Vegas, arrived to surprise and honor her mother. Peggy was roasted, toasted and overjoyed that her colleagues, friends and family would tribute her in this fashion. She gracefully thanked everyone in attendance.
