Skating rink becomes kids’ art canvas

Day campers recently drew these chalk pictures, using as their canvas the dry bed of what was originally constructed as a skating rink at Pine Island Park. After a drain in the rink was repaired, the area was washed clean of debris and stagnant puddles, making it appealing to artists and hopscotchers.
