New York State’s ReLeaf’s Hudson Valley committee will host a webinar on climate and community forest programs on Thursday, May 6, from noon to 1:15 p.m.
This lunchtime webinar will introduce viewers to programs that can help a community get climate smart and prepare a community forest for the future.
Angelica Patterson, master science educator at Black Rock Forest, will talk about how plants are responding to warming climate and the factors driving climate-induced tree migrations.
Andy Hillman, arborist with the state’s Urban Forestry Council, will present a selection of trees from other regions evaluated for the future climates of the northeast.
And Dazzle Ekblad of the DEC will discuss how to start climate smart programs.
