Warwick. The WVHS Drama Club returns Nov. 4, 5 and 6 with ‘Suite Surrender’
The Warwick Valley High School Drama Club is presenting the comedy “Suite Surrender” by Michael McKeever for its fall show.
“Suite Surrender,” a farce in the vein of classic 1930s and 1940s, follows two of Hollywood’s biggest divas as they descend upon the luxurious Palm Beach Royale Hotel in 1942.
With them are their assistants, luggage and their legendary feud with one another in tow. Everything seems to be in order for their wartime performance, that is until they are somehow assigned to the same suite.
Mistaken identities, overblown egos, double entendres and a lap dog named Mr. Boodles round out this hilarious comedy.
Performances are at 7 p.m. nightly on Nov. 4, 5 and 6 in the theater in the high school.
The box office will open at 6 p.m., with sales ending promptly at 6:55 p.m.
Residents are asked to please be prompt on the nights of the performances to purchase tickets. Tickets are $10 general admission, and $8 for senior citizens and children under ten.
For this production, strict COVID protocols will be in place: all audience members must wear a mask when in the building, including wearing them throughout the performance. Audience members will only be seated when their entire group has arrived and no changes to the group will be made after the party has been seated by one of our ushers.
“Suite Surrender” will run without an intermission, so audience members will be encouraged to use the facilities prior to the start of the performance.
The Drama Club is excited to have their loyal audience return for live theater once again. To contact the Drama Club, please email them at wvhsdramaclub@wvcsd.org.
