Warwick. Free outdoor ‘Airing of the Quilts’ display and sale to be held on Sept. 18
The Warwick Valley Quilters’ Guild (WVQG) will present a one-day “Airing of the Quilts” display and quilt sale on Saturday, Sept, 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This free event will be held outdoors in the Pavilion at Veterans Memorial Park, McFarland Drive, Warwick, just past the Albert Wisner Public Library.
Nearby parking is available.
“Airing” quilts outdoors has a long tradition in our country, dating back to colonial times. And with a nod to the area’s many orchards, the theme is “apples.”
The event will feature a variety of quilts and wall hangings, table runners and more - many with an apple design.
Several quilts feature an apple quilt block design created by WVQG member Louise LoPinto Hutchison, a graphic designer and Warwick resident.
In addition, the WVQG “Boutique Table” will include a wonderful variety of handcrafted quilted items and quilting items for sale.
The Warwick Valley Quilters’ Guild was founded in September 1982 to create, stimulate and maintain an interest in making, collecting and preserving quilts.
The event rain date is Sunday, Sept. 19.
