The Friends of Hathorn House have pivoted to a virtual yet truly interactive format for the annual Founders’ Day celebration of life in 18th century Warwick on Saturday, May 30.
Using Facebook Live and Zoom workshops, you can help honor our Founding Veterans and do some “hands-on” learning while staying safe at home from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“We asked ourselves what would Washington do if things were so changed?" organizer Sue Gardner explained. "The answer is, pivot, and carry on.
"So we are," she added. "There will be Facebook live feeds from the house, where the presenters will keep a safe distance and wear masks. For our craft workshops we will have curb-side pickup that morning, so our guests can get simple materials kits and do the activities along with us on Zoom.”
The opening ceremony and first presentation will be on Facebook Live, and everyone can watch at the event page: https://www.facebook.com/HathornHouseWarwick/
The schedule for the day includes opening ceremony and several 18th century reenactor presentations and workshops. You must register to get the Zoom meeting link for the workshops to interact with the instructors, and must email hathornhouse@gmail.com to pick up a materials kit that morning.
