Warwick artist Nancy Hull Kearing hosts art exhibit in Katonah
Warwick. Public reception is Saturday, Sept. 21.
Noted graphic designer and abstract painter Nancy Hull Kearing, who lives and maintains a studio in Warwick, will hold a public reception for her art exhibition from 5 to 8 p.m. this Saturday, Sept. 21.
The exhibition of her works will be held at the Katonah Village Library, 26 Bedford Road, until Oct. 7.
Kearing has exhibited in many galleries nationally and her murals and paintings are in public and private collections in New York, Tokyo, Stockholm, Montreal and throughout the United States.
The local artist studied at Yale University School of Art and Architecture under the Bauhaus luminary, Joseph Albers, and at the Art Students’ League in New York.
Kearing also holds degrees from New York University and SUNY Binghamton and she also worked with I.M. Pei and Partners in New York City.
“I paint within the convenience of non-objective art using circles, squares, rectangles, and trapezoids to improvise in the spirit of the many different kinds of music and dance,” said Kearing. “Using these forms, colors, and lines I aim to stimulate sensations of movement, rhythm, harmony and key. “
The exhibit will include nearly 30 of her works reflecting more than 70 years in the profession as a professional painter and interior designer.
A portion of the proceeds from her current exhibition will be donated to the Katonah Village Library.
Kearing is the sister of Town of Warwick Historian Dr. Richard Hull.
