SUGAR LOAF-Over 30 area churches from Sussex County in New Jersey and Orange County in New York have teamed up with a professional theater company to produce an ecumenical holiday event called “Two From Galilee,” a full scale, Broadway style musical. The musical is built on the love story of Mary and Joseph, and how God encounters people in their lives. The show is a musical adaptation of the best selling book by Marjorie Holmes. The cast consists of over 70 performers, including professional actors and musicians who are joined by members of churches from the two county areas. The production is designed to present the Gospel in a way that is attractive to the un-churched, and in a way that many people have never seen or experienced before. Additionally, the purpose of the endeavor is to build up the body of Christ. The musical will be presented over three weekends: on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25 and 26, at the Lycian Theatre in Sugar Loaf; on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 2 and 3, at the McNeice Auditorium in Sparta, N.J.; and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 9, 10 and 11, at the Newburgh Free Academy Auditorium in Newburgh. The times are 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night, 3 p.m. for Saturday matinees, and 6 p.m. on Sunday. General admission is free, or $10 per seat for premium reserved seats. A free will offering will be collected at each performance. For tickets and more information, visit www.twofromgalilee.com, or call 1-877-896-3766 or 973-277-4376.
