Tina Ross, Doc Hirsch and Bernstein Trio to perform benefit concert
WARWICK-On Saturday, July 10 at 8 p.m. Tina Ross, Doc Hirsch and the Bernstein Trio will be performing in a benefit concert for the Warwick Valley Community Center located at 11 Hamilton Avenue in Warwick. Tickets are $10 and pre-paid reservations are required. Tina Ross & Doc Hirsch have performed in venues throughout New York, Massachusetts and abroad. Locally performances have included a recent benefit performance for the Warwick Library, as well as, performances at the Lycian, Paramount Theater and Bodles Opera House. They have shared the stage with John and Mary of the 10,000 Maniacs, Mary Fahl, James Cotton, Terrance Martin, Tom Pacheco and Christine Lavin. More information on this amazing duo can be found at www.tinaross.com. The Bernstein Brothers, Steve and Mark, have been performing and teaching music for over 25 years. Currently incorporating classic styles from around the world, their repertoire includes Italian mazurkas, tangos, Irish fiddle tunes, popular melodies and jazz. Both Steve and Mark have a rich and varied musical career performing many different styles and several ensembles. Mark Bernstein plays the guitar and bass and has performed with artists such as Willie Nelson, The Oakridge Boys, Boots Randolph, and Mel Tillis. Playing with the jazz quartet "Avenues," he has shared the stage with Grover Washington, the Brecker Brothers, Dave Valentine, Kenry Rankin and Bela Fleck. Mark toured for five years with 13-time Grammy Award winning Jimmy Sturr Orchestra and maintains and active teaching practice in addition to performing with the Bernstein Brothers. Steve Bernstein plays mandolin, as well as guitar and mandola. Recently he performed in concert with Mario Tacca, and has played folk and country blues with the "Bear Brothers Band,"rock and reggae electric mandolin with "Quallah Battoo," and fold with "Shot of Redemption," as well as "The Jay Mankita Trio". In addition to performing Steve has been recording mandolin tracks at local studios, teaching over 40 students and performing with The Bernstein Brothers.
