Silhouette Portraits at Museum Village

| 30 Sep 2011 | 09:44

Silhouette Artist Jean Comerford will be at Museum Village in Monroe on Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. In the 19th century, itinerant silhouette artists would often pass through the Hudson Valley doing portraits from town to town. The portraits, which Comerford snips out while her subject sits before her, are completed within minutes. The black paper silhouette is then pasted to a white paper support and put in an oval window mat board. Cost is $29 and $10 for duplicates. Call 782-8247 to make a reservation.
