Mike Corbin live

WARWICK — Warwick’s own Mike Corbin will perform at 7 West St. in Warwick on Saturday night, Dec. 29. Corbin will have his guitar, voice, and songwriting talent on display for his one-man show that features his newest release, The Road Calls. A complimentary reception with wine, cheese, chocolate and coffee, will commence at 8 p.m., followed by Corbin live at 9 p.m.
Promoter and Warwick Valley Living Publisher George Nitti says the timing of the event will give people an after-dinner, entertainment option for the holiday weekend.
“We will seat a maximum of 50 people on the main floor in order to keep the venue intimate, so it’s a good idea to purchase your tickets in advance,” said Nitti.
Corbin's songs have been featured on compilation albums alongside such famed performers as Bon Jovi, Twisted Sister, and Ten Thousand Maniacs. His very first record release, "Baby It’s Cold Outside” was given rave reviews and hailed as “authentic rock’n’roll.” Corbin has played with many musical legends, such as Bruce Springsteen, Chuck Berry and Duran Duran, to name a few. Recently he has been playing guitar in the oldies group Sha Na Na while also playing with Big Jim Wheeler and the Wheels of Fire and his own Corbin and Jones Band.
Corbin’s solo performance will highlight his rock/county/blues style songs with his acoustic guitar, all original Corbin music.
“I began playing guitar and writing my own songs when a young teenager,” said Corbin. His love songs have been reviewed as “moving” and “profound.” Also an accomplished carpenter, several of his songs reflect the challenges of ordinary working people.
Corbin and his wife, Lou Ann, have raised two sons, now attending college. He has performed steadily throughout a 30-year career behind the guitar and piano all over the world.
