Spend an afternoon with Betsy Straton and her singer-songwriter stylings on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 4 p.m. at the Old School Baptist Meeting House.
Born and raised in Warwick, Straton studied music at the Ithaca School of Music and the Royal College in London.
A regular performer at "Folk City" in Greenwich Village, she won the New York City Singer-Songwriter contest in 1983.
Straton has toured extensively throughout Europe, and recorded numerous albums, including sound tracks for documentary films.
She and her family have been part of many Christmas Eve caroling celebrations at the historic church, an annual community tradition in Warwick.
Funds raised from this event will go toward preserving the Old School Baptist Meeting House.
The Warwick Historical Society, dedicated to preserving this structure and other historic properties for future generations, is excited to host this special "homecoming" concert.
This performance is expected to sell out. Tickets are $40 per person and on sale by calling 845-986-3236, or at the Warwick Historical Society headquarters, 2 Colonial Ave., Warwick.
This project is made possible, in part, with funds from the County of Orange and Orange County Tourism, and with support from the Village of Warwick.
