As the Hudson Valley heads into Labor Day weekend, the region comes alive with a variety of musical events that blend nostalgic tunes, folk rhythms, and soulful blues.

Saturday, August 31

Start your day with Will Hinck’s acoustic hits at the Lakeside Farmers Market in Winstanley Park (210 Windermere Ave, Greenwood Lake) at 11 a.m. Then, enjoy the Dead Ahead Festival at the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center (1351 Kings Hwy Bypass, Sugar Loaf) from 1 to 9 p.m., featuring a full day of Grateful Dead tunes, live music, food, and vendors. In the afternoon, catch performances by Vera & the Force at Warwick Valley Winery (114 Little York Rd., Warwick), Frank Petrocelli Quartet at Last Whisky Bar (45 Woodlands Way, Warwick), Al Gross at Clearview Vineyard (35 Clearview Lane, Warwick), and Dan Brother celebrating Applewood Winery’s 30th anniversary (82 4 Corners Rd., Warwick), all starting at 2 p.m. As the evening sets in, the Sunset Series at Pennings Farm Cidery (4 Warwick Turnpike, Warwick) features classic rock by Vinyl Tap at 5 p.m., with a $10 cover charge including one complimentary beer or cider.

Also at 5 p.m., Kinfolk performs at Echo Fields (197 Pine Hill Rd., Westtown), and at 6 p.m. Nailed Shutt brings jam grass to Orange County Distillery at Brown Barn Farms (286 Maple Ave, New Hampton).

Enjoy nostalgic hits from Ladies of the 80s at 7:30 p.m. in Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park (7 Windermere Ave, Greenwood Lake) and Some Guys & a Broad at Railroad Green in Warwick. Round off your night with Jason Gisser, playing songs influenced by funk, soul, and rock, at the Last Whisky Bar at 8 p.m. or Tasi at Barrel 28 (28 N Main St., Florida) at 8:30 p.m.

Sunday, September 1

Begin at 1 p.m. with the Strings Attached Duo performing pop and rock favorites at Cove Castle (13 Castle Ct., Greenwood Lake). At 2 p.m., catch the Tony Vee All Stars bringing funky grooves to the Pennings Farm Market Beer Garden (161 Route 94 S., Warwick), while Bruce Perone plays at Applewood Winery. James Patrick serenades at Clearview Vineyard and The Peach Project delivers Allman Brothers tunes at Warwick Valley Winery. Also at 2 p.m., The Uptown Getdowns take over Tin Barn Brewing (62 Kings Hwy Bypass, Chester). Later, Andre Turan plays at Last Whisky Bar at 3 p.m., followed by Kobi & Al with their acoustic tunes at Pennings Farm Cidery and the Nikki Briar Trio performing southern rock at D’Boathaus (322 Lakeside Rd., Hewitt, N.J.) at 4 p.m. Finally, Stoneflower wraps up the day with their Santana tribute and more at Cove Castle at 5 p.m.

Monday, September 2

Celebrate Labor Day on Monday with live music at 2 p.m. as the Brian & Rosie Duo performs at Applewood Winery, while Lucky Force entertains at Warwick Valley Winery.

Thursday, September 5

The Acoustic Bad Boys will bring their acoustic grooves to The Last Whisky Bar starting at 7 p.m.

Friday, September 6

Vinyl Tap kicks off Friday evening at 6 p.m. at Tin Barn Brewing with their rock favorites. Meanwhile, Pennings Farm Market Beer Garden features the folk tunes of The Arborline. And over at Trail’s End Taphouse at GWL Garden Market (1197 NY-17A, Greenwood Lake), get ready for a night of soulful blues and captivating rhythms with the Robert Hill Blues Band featuring Rae Simone.
