Library Foundation hosts 'The Great American Songbook' on Dec. 9

Warwick — The Albert Wisner Public Library Foundation will present “The Great American Songbook” with vocalist Perley Rousseau and pianist Sonny Daye on Friday, Dec. 9, beginning at 7 p.m. The performance will feature the music of American song writers from the golden age of popular song: Gershwin, Berlin, Porter, Ellington and Rodgers. Rousseau and Daye were voted Best Jazz Standards Duo by Metroland magazine: “When they perform the works of Porter, Ellington or Berlin,” the Metroland reviewer wrote, “they create something lovely to listen to.” “The Great American Songbook” will be performed in the Community Room at the library.
