Girl scouts Safety Day Nov. 5

New Hampton — The Sarah Wells Girl Scout Council, Orange County Fire Training Center and Orange and Rockland Utilities will present the seventh annual “Family Safety Day” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Orange County Fire Training Center at 9 Training Center Lane in New Hampton, rain or shine. The free event is designed to promote safety awareness in our community. Families are encouraged to participate in the many hands-on activities demonstrated by over 100 volunteers from local agencies. Children can be finger printed and have photo ID cards completed. Tours will be available of the Kid’s Fire Safety Trailer, with information on ways to escape a home in case of emergencies. For more information, call 361-2898 ext. 59 or 374-1900.
