Girl Scouts and Brownies hold car wash for Katrina victims

    WARWICK-On Sunday, Sept 25, Warwick Girl Scouts and Brownies, assisted by members of the Goodwill Hook & Ladder Fire Company, held a Car Wash to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The volunteer firefighters for this project were Jeff Schadt, Andrew and Scott Lemin, Tom Gove, Charlies Niemann, Greg Segposyan and Joe Smith. The members of Troop 361 were Justine Thomas, Kayla Corkum, Hanna Cavanagh, Erica Ridella, Rachel Janes, Corinne Prenatt, and Alison Hoffman. Members of Troop 264 were Taylor Thomas, Alyssa Corkum, Emily Cavanagh, Ciarra DiGuilio, and Christine McSweeney. Makenna DiGuilio, Cassandra Swanson and Ali Wierzbicki.are members of Troop 253. Katie O'Reilly represented Troop 197. Other volunteers included Connor Dineen and Natalia Balacco. The firefighters and the youngsters raised $710 for the victims. They also started a collection of used or new clothing, water, diapers, formula, tooth brushes, toothpaste, shampoo and small toys. The collection area is Station #1 - Goodwill Hook & Ladder, just off Forester Avenue in the Village of Warwick. Deadline for donations and the collection of these items is Monday, Oct 3, at noon.
