Fall for upcoming botanical workshops
Middletown. Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Master Gardeners will host multiple workshops in Middletown and Otisville this fall
Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) will host seasonal creative workshops this fall.
Local botanical drawing expert James “Doug” Milne will host a nature journaling session at on Saturday, Sept. 23 at the Education Center and 4-H Park, 300 Finchville Tpke. Otisville, N.Y. Milne is trained in both horticulture and botanical illustration at the New York Botanical Garden. Participants will sketch landscapes, plant life, and record their observations while connecting with the nature. Registration is required prior to Sept. 15. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and costs $35 per person. A materials list will be provided with registration confirmation.
Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Middletown offices, located at 18 Seward Ave., will host an autumn-wreath workshop on Oct. 28. Attendees will create wreathes from natural dried flowers, leaves, and other fall-themed accents. The workshop is $35 per person and includes all materials. Registration is required by Oct. 15.
CCE’s Middletown offices will also host a centerpiece-making workshop on Nov. 18 from 10 to 11 a.m. Attendees will create fall flower arrangements in ceramic pumpkins, while learning about the different flowers and how to best condition them prior to creating the arrangement. The workshop fee is $30, which includes all materials. Registration is required by Nov. 10.
