The Greenwood Lake Public Library welcomes back horticulturist Jane Barba on Thursday, July 25, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., as she tackles the topic roses, roses, roses.
Barba will provide information on what she refers to as “some of the best roses” for today’s gardeners, including climbers, shrub roses, polyanthus and rugosa roses.
These type of flowers are considered low-maintenance, disease resistant with no chemicals or extra fussing.
Educated in Landscape Design at the New York Botanical Garden and Garden Restoration and Preservation at the Art Foundation of LaNapoule in the South of France, Barba is another local resident who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the conditions that exist in any particular setting.
She has worked at the New York Botanical Garden, the Parks Council of New York and has been designing for American Cottage Gardens since 1989.
Patrons may register either online at www.gwllibrary.org, by phone at 845 477-8377, ext. 101, or in person at the front desk.
The library is located at 79 Waterstone Road in the Village of Greenwood Lake.
