Vernon, N.J. - The Community Choral Society, a non-profit organization that pulls members from Vernon, N.J., Warwick and surrounding areas, has a new president, Bill Kelter, a local music teacher. He’s been teaching music and chorus at Vernon’s Lounsberry Hollow Middle School. A longtime Vernon resident, he graduated from Vernon High in 1989, earned a bachelor’s degree from Berklee College of Music and a bachelor of architecture from Virginia Tech. He joined the Community choir in 2010 and sings in the tenor section. His vision for the choral society is this: “I would like to help make the Community Choral Society more visible to the public and increase enrollment so as to provide opportunities for adult choral singing in our community. I would like the CCS to be an example of a fine creative outlet and social opportunity for local residents.” The choir welcomes new members in all sections. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings at 7:45 p.m. at St Thomas Episcopal Church on Route 94. Fundraiser planned Little Anthony’s Pizzeria will hold a fund raiser on Thursday, April 28. Whether pizza is for eat-in or take-out, the restaurant will make a donation supporting the Community Choral Society for every pizza sold during business hours. Little Anthony’s is located at the A&P Shopping Plaza on Rt. 515, Vernon.
