Chamber music series offers free concerts

    Montgomery — The Grand Montgomery Chamber Music Series is celebrating its 18th anniversary with free concerts on Sundays in Montgomery. At 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18, tenor William Hite will be accompanied by pianist Harry Jensen. Hite, singing lieder and oratorio, will present songs by Richard Strauss, Finzi, Faure, Haydn and Purcell. At 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13, The Mistral Trio will present music by Beethoven, Bach, Françaix, and Peter Schickele. The New Paltz-based trio consists of Ann Churukian on oboe, Joanna Schroer on clarinet, and Elisabeth Romano on bassoon. Spring 2006 concerts will feature cellist Avron Coleman and pianist Gildo Dinunzio playing the music of Beethoven, Mozart, and Saint-Saens; pianist Gregg Michalak playing music by Mozart, Beethoven, and Chopin; and brothers violinist Robert Gupta and pianist Patrick Gupta will perform.
