The Bull Stone House and New World Dutch Barn will be open for tours on Saturday afternoon, June 18, as part of the "I Love NY" Path Through History Weekend.
The Bull Stone House, as well as the only example of a New World Dutch barn still standing in Orange County, are located at the corner of Sarah Wells Trail and County Route 51.
The house is a living museum that, along with the barn, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built circa 1722 by William Bull and Sarah Wells, who were among the first settlers in Orange County.
The William Bull and Sarah Wells Stone House Association is participating the event again this year by opening the historic house museum to visitors interested in local history.
Walking paths lead through the woods to the historic Hamptonburgh Cemetery, where many Bull family members are buried.
The house, barn and grounds will be open June 18 from 1-4 p.m. Suggested donation: $2.00 for children, $3.00 for adults, and $8.00 for families.
