    Fireworks planned at state park this Friday evening Bear Mt. State Park — Blankets and barbecues will be the order of the day on Friday, June 24 at Bear Mountain State Park for the annual fireworks spectacular. From 5 to 9 p.m., visitors can dance to the sounds of Party Time Productions and children can enjoy the bounce house on the field. Bear Mountain’s concessionaire will sell picnic fare from an outdoor tent and have merchandise for sale. The merry-go-round will also be open. Arrive early as parking lots fill up fast. Approximate time for the fireworks display is 9 p.m. Parking is $8 per car. Alcoholic beverages and personal pyrotechnics are not permitted. Bear Mountain State Park can be reached via Exit 19 of the Palisades Interstate Parkway or from Route 9W. For more information or special access needs call the Bear Mountain Office at 786-2701. 'Crazy for You’ coming to Summerstar Theatre MIDDLETOWN — To celebrate its 12th season, SummerStar Theatre will feature “Crazy For You,” the high-energy George Gershwin song and dance spectacular, for six showings this month on the Orange Hall Theatre stage at SUNY Orange. Show times will be 8 p.m. for Friday and Saturday evening performances on June 17-18 and 24-25, along with 3 p.m. Sunday performances on June 19 and 26. The creative team for “Crazy For You” includes director Max Schaefer, choreographer Jill Carroll, musical director Jim Quinlan and costume designer Cabot Parsons. The cast includes: Shawn Schorno, Robin Meade, Brittany Pierce, Bill Schwartz, Nancy Talarico, Carmine Garritano, Dara Ellen Breitkopf, David Mossey, Derek DeVoe, Douglas Harrington, Janet Droll, Fay Gerbes, Lourdesa Hunt, Michelle George, Rachel Webb, Tim Mullally, A.J. Hankins, David Melchionne and Frank Gerbes. Ticket prices are: $22, general admission; $16, senior citizens, faculty, staff and alumni; $14, students; and free for active duty military personnel. Potluck in the garden will be held June 23 in Greenwood Lake Greenwood Lake — A vegetarian potluck dinner will be held at the Greenwood Lake Community Garden on Thursday, June 23, at 7 p.m. Participants should bring a side dish. with recipe, to share with others. Zoe and Sam Bandes will provide entertainment. Bring a chair, plate, cup (and a beverage of your choice) and good cheer.
