Kaycha Labs opens in Warwick Valley Office and Technology Corporate Park
Warwick. Kaycha Labs is the largest and newest hemp testing lab in New York State.
Kaycha Labs, a state-of-the-art hemp testing facility, part of the CBD Accelerator, is now housed in a newly renovated 9,000 square foot complex on the grounds of the former Mid-Orange Correctional Facility.
On Monday, September 14, representatives of New York State, Orange County, the Town of Warwick and the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined Kaycha Labs owner Marco Pedone, his staff and associates to celebrate the grand opening of the new facility.
For the benefit of those not familiar with the Warwick Valley Office and Technology Corporate Park, Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton addressed everyone gathered and explained the history of its development on a site that had changed from the time it was a State School for Boys to a men’s correctional facility and, more recently, its closure and purchase by the Town.
Pedone praised the county and town leadership for their cooperation with any difficulties involved during the building’s renovation.
“It was a heavy lift,” he said.
Kaycha Labs is equipped with all new Shimadzu equipment and the latest automation. It will provide 48-hour turnaround testing services including potency, heavy metals, microbiology, water activity, moisture and environmental (crop contamination).
The facility has the capacity to expand to cannabis testing if approved by New York State.
“Kaycha Labs opening in the Warwick Valley Office and Technology Corporate Park,” said Laurie Villasuso, CEO of the Orange County IDA, “is an exciting milestone in our mission to bring a burgeoning, global CBD industry to our community. The property has been renovated to support all aspects of quality testing CBD and related products. It’s great to see an abandoned prison facility now being used to create jobs in our region.”
The Warwick Corporate Park is comprised of nearly 150 acres split between five lots, four of which feature existing buildings of sturdy and attractive construction. The fifth lot is shovel ready and available for 10 pad sites of approximately 85,000 square feet each which have already been approved for subdivision by the Warwick Town Planning Board.
Kaycha Labs also has facilities in California, Colorado, Florida, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Tennessee.
