The Computer Guy celebrates his anniversary

| 11 Jul 2014 | 12:22

The Computer Guy has come a long way since it first opened in April of 2010.

Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton, Village of Warwick Mayor Michael Newhard and Sherry Bukovcan, president of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined owner Kevin Brand, his family and staff recently for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate four successful years.

When Brand first opened at 14 West St. and later that same year moved to larger quarters across the street at 17 West St., he had been in the computer industry for over 20 years. He had also been the owner of a corporate computer support business, Department of Information Technologies, Inc., for nine years. Brand was what most people would call, "a computer guy" and that's the name he choose for his new business in his hometown of Warwick.

At first, the firm's services included the removal of viruses and spyware, computer cleanings, system setups, data recovery, PC upgrades and wireless setups.

Today, in addition to computer sales and repairs, The Computer Guy now offers iPad, iPhone and x-box repairs. And for those looking for that "special" machine, they now offer custom builds with the specification needs of the customer.

"I have added a new addition, Romeo, half boxer half mystery to my family," said Brand. "Such a cute face, he had to be rescued. I am happy to say he is going to help us sniff out those bugs in your system."

The Computer Guy has a reputation for supporting the community with donations to various charitable organizations, supplying the Warwick Fire Department with computers or donating time to The Warwick Historical Society.

"We're glad to help," said Brand. "We are also proud to support our local schools and organizations. And we would like to thank the community and surrounding towns for their support. As we continue to grow, we invite you to grow with us. We welcome any questions you might have regarding your computer issues and are always eager to help."
