Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined Frank and Karen Graessle and staff at Clearview Vineyard on June 23 to celebrate the first anniversary of their new tasting facility and membership in the Shawangunk Wine Trail .

The Graessles had a dream of creating a vineyard when they moved to Warwick in 2004 and found the right home and 10-acre property at 35 Clearview Lane, just off Route 94/17A and next to Garden State Koi between the villages of Warwick and Florida.

Last year they completed construction on a wine tasting room and large front porch, which attracted a number of wine lovers to Clearview Vineyard every weekend.

"We're proud of the rave reviews we are receiving on YELP and Facebook," said Frank Graessle. "Many of our customers are saying that we have some of the best dry wines in the area and the view from the top of the vineyard is fantastic. They also say how much they enjoy the new building and great music."

The wine tasting room is available for parties and can accommodate up to 85 people. The front porch can hold another 40 people.

Wine tasting is $5 per person and includes six of the Clearview Vineyard's 12 wines and a free 11 ounce wine glass with the firm's logo.

Hours of operation are 12 to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, with live music from 2 to 5 p.m.

On weekends from noon to 5 p.m. during July, accomplished artists Betty Graessle and Victoria Walsh will be exhibiting landscape oils, watercolors, acrylics and graphic collages. The paintings will be for sale.

Groups of 10 or more can have a private wine tasting by calling 845-651-2838 or e-mailing cvvineyard@optonline.net. Wine may be purchased almost anytime by calling ahead.
