Join the Warwick Café reading project
WARWICK — Coordinated quarterly by the Albert Wisner Public Library, the Village of Warwick and Ye Olde Warwick Book Shoppe, the Warwick Cafe Reading Project puts multiple free copies of the same book in cafes around Warwick.
“This is a wonderful partnership promoting literacy and stimulating community conversations across the generations in our community,” said Library Director Rosemary Cooper.
The book chosen by popular vote on the library's website for this summer is J.D. Salinger’s quintessential tale of teenage alienation, "The Catcher in the Rye."
Join Holden Caulfield as wanders the streets of Manhattan on the brink adulthood, struggling to understand the world he is about to enter and resisting its corrupting influence.
"The Cather in the Rye" is listed on Time Magazine's All-Time best 100 English language novels from 1923 to 2005.
Whether you're revisiting the book years after high school, or encountering it for the first time, look for copies in Caffe a la Mode, Noble Pies Cafe, Sugar Shack Cafe, Conscious Fork, Jean-Claude's Patisserie and Tuscan Cafe.
After reading the book, either return it to the cafe where you found it, or pass it along to a friend or family member.
Enjoy and keep reading.
